The number of Forty in the East has always been mystic and sacral number. Everything could be divided by forty – number of warriors, presents and days of sacred prayers.

The composition of the center of the old part of Bukhara is a madrasah built by Vizier Nodir Devon Begi. In fact, the idea was to build a caravanserai, which would be conveniently located in the bustling bazaar square.

This madrasah is one of the major attractions of Gijduvan city, which is 40 kilometres from Bukhara, as well as one of the three that were built by the illustrious grandson of Amir Temur.

At the entrance to Vabkent (the town, located in the suburbs of Bukhara) we can see how the horizon line is cut through tall & elegant minaret ("Place of kindling" in Arabic meaning), embodied in typical Asian style, with a round base.

Kosh means ‘double’ and is a general architectural term that can refer to any two opposing or facing halves of an ensemble.
